Disruption Prediction Agent

This agent continuously monitors real-time sources such as traffic APIs, news feeds, and local authority alerts to spot disruptions like road closures, accidents, strikes, and weather events. It uses rule-based filtering and optional ML models to classify each event and judge its impact on planned routes.

When it detects a disruption, it publishes an alert to a Pub/Sub topic so other agents, such as the Route Optimizer and Decision Agent, can adjust plans. Deliveries can be rerouted before schedules slip, which avoids last-minute changes and idle vehicle time and lowers fuel, labor, and operating costs. Early warnings and automated adjustments help logistics companies and supply chain teams meet delivery windows and service-level agreements (SLAs), which builds customer trust. By supplying timely data to other agents, it supports autonomous decisions across the wider logistics system.
