This agent verifies a user’s identity by asking them to enter a one-time password sent to the mobile number on file. It is often the first point of contact for secure operations and acts as a gatekeeper for other agents.
When a user starts an interaction, the agent asks for their account number, looks up the linked mobile number, and sends an OTP. It then prompts the user for the code and compares it with the system-generated value to reach a verified or unverified decision. The agent manages the whole flow on its own, from sending to validating, and passes validated user context to subsequent agents. This improves security and user experience for residential customers, reduces manual intervention, and simplifies access control. It connects to a Customer Data API and the Twilio SMS API.
