Static Code Analysis Agent (Vertex AI)

This agent performs static analysis on Java source code to detect code smells, deprecated APIs, legacy patterns, and cloud migration candidates. It uses Lizard to compute code complexity and Vertex AI for in-depth analysis.

The agent starts when code is uploaded to a Cloud Storage bucket. It applies predefined and custom rewrite recipes to produce structured diagnostics and improvement suggestions, stores the results in an analysis results bucket, and sends a Pub/Sub notification to trigger downstream agents. Automating static analysis improves code quality, reduces technical debt, catches issues early, and speeds up cloud migration.
